Bethany School which is an independent day and boarding school in Kent, has invested in a SANYO Gas Heat Pump powered by Calor LPG to heat and cool its increasingly environmentally friendly Science Centre.
Bethany School was keen to use the latest technologies in the building, and alongside the installation of solar thermal collectors for water heating, solar pipes for lighting and effective insulation, the school has invested in a SANYO Gas
Heat Pump, powered by Calor LPG.The innovative and energy efficient LPG-powered heat pump provides heating
and cooling for the Science Centre. In addition to heating and air conditioning, the SANYO GHP can also provide a
proportion of hot water and electricity. The product is over 100 per cent efficient; achieving 140 per cent efficiency in heating and 160 per cent efficiency in cooling.
"The LPG-powered Gas Heat Pump is ideal for our needs; it provides energy efficient, costeffective heating and cooling for the Science Centre, and we are optimistic that we can use the waste heat for our swimming pool. Despite the initial outlay, the running costs are low, and it will be five years before the unit requires a major service“ says Mr. Brian Chapman, the Estate Manager of Bethany School.
