The 42SRE1 is a “Sun Readable” display for high ambient light environments. Modifications to the LCD panel allow light falling naturally on the panel to be reflected back towards the viewer, increasing the brightness of the panel in line with lighting conditions. It is driven by a standard backlight, which in the absence of ambient light creates a screen brightness of 500cd/m. However, as increasing levels of ambient light impact on the LCD the brightness of the panel increases to a maximum of 1500cd/m with no increase in power consumption! The 42SRE1 is suitable for internal use in shop window applications or brightly lit atriums.
